I'd have to agree with some of the others...

It does have a very Coraline feel to it...might just be bad timing is all as Coraline is about to be released on DVD...

As far as design and story go, I think it needs something we care about in it...Here you have this story, but stories that are boring or don't catch our attention won't be remembered. Try to choose something Over The Top / Extreme. Yeah he has to "save" something which I now don't even remember though I watched this trailer not more than 30 seconds ago...Go over the top like Save The World or Save Himself...something that we can relate to and care about.

As a director you have to tell the audience "exactly" what they are meant to understand, while you might understand it, try to view things from a viewers perspective.

Hope that was helpful.

Thanks! THat is helpful, although we didn't want to give anything away in the trailer, trust me, it's a lot deeper than this 60 second bit you saw here. We've worked on this script for 3 years, it's over the top alright, but if you want to see what it is actually all about, you'll have to come back next month for the full-length episode. Sorry, but we just can't give away our killer plot right off the bat. We simply wanted to intrigue. And no, it has nothing to do with Caroline. Hope to see you back!

Brush work is good...

...the image still looks a bit flat...and not 3 dimensional.

you might be able to add a couple of extra shading layers in photoshop on top of this to help bring the image out into space a bit...

hope that was helpful

Thanks for the review!
It being flat is one of the biggest recurring problems I encounter in my recent drawings. I think it has to do with being really focused on the drawing, which makes you see a lot more difference then there actually is, or than someone else will see. I sometimes made a duplicate layer on "overlay" blending mode, but I try to keep away from doing that.
Thanks for the advice!

I love Yoda...

...but his seems down right out of character for him, using the force in a display of power to pick the mushroom...

...the lighting is awesome though :D

ItoSaithWebb responds:

Actually he is encourging growth of the younger mushrooms to replace the ones he already picked. Besides Lucas kept Yoda in a lot of mystery so who is to say what he would or would not do.

Looks Time Consuming...

Gotta give you props for the amount of detail, not just in the colored works, but also the pencil drawings...

I get the feeling of Video Game Art or Concept Art going on, not quite at the level that you normally see for such things, but keep at it, it's the only way to improve.

...It would be nice to know the back story or more about this character to asses his personality posses, but perhaps I missed that in another of your submissions in which it might be stated...

hope that was helpful...

A challenge is not a problem, it's an opportunity...
